Clinical Focus & Research
Dr. Sherman’s clinical practice spans brain and spinal tumor surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery (Gamma Knife and LINAC), fluorescence-guided surgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), peripheral nerve tumor surgery, neuromodulation, and clinical trial development.
His translational research program bridges the laboratory and the operating room. Funded by the National Science Foundation and the Charlie Teo Foundation, it spans cold atmospheric plasma therapy, VR/AR surgical planning, and novel surgical techniques for high-grade gliomas.

Cold Plasma Cancer Therapy
Co-authored with Michael Keidar & Dayun Yan — IOP Publishing, 2019
The first textbook dedicated to the application of cold atmospheric plasma in cancer treatment. Dr. Sherman contributed the clinical and neurosurgical perspective to this interdisciplinary work, bridging the physics of plasma medicine with its application in surgical oncology.
